Qatar Iron and Steel Company ( Qatar Steel ) was established in 1974 as the first integrated iron and steel factory in the Arabian Gulf region. Qatar Steel has an integrated plant in Qatar and a rolling mill in the UAE (a subsidiary of 100% owned by Qatar Steel).
