In November last year, Turkey's total exports of hot-rolled (HRC) steel flats decreased by 34.8% to 71,116 tonnes compared to October and decreased by 54.0% year-on-year, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
These exports amounted to $47.98 million, decreasing by 35.3% monthly and 68.9% compared to the same month in 2021. From January to November last year, Turkey's exports of hot-rolled steel (HRC) flats amounted to 1.38 million tonnes, down 34.8%, while the value of these exports decreased by 34.8% compared to the same period in 2021 to reach $1.23 billion. In the specified period, the Arab country's imports of HRC steel flats increased by 144% to reach 467,723 tonnes compared to the same period in 2021. Egypt ranked second among the largest importing countries, with a volume of 223,839 tonnes, an increase of 256%. Tunisia ranked fifth with a volume of 80,204 tonnes, a rise of 23%, and Algeria ranked sixth with a volume of 73,306 tonnes, an increase of 117%; Lebanon ranked ninth with a volume of 46,641 tonnes, an increase of 546%, and Morocco ranked tenth with a volume of 43,733 tonnes, an increase of 87%.
