Saeed Al Rumaithi, Managing Director and CEO of the company, in the presence of a number of senior management members, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between Arab companies operating in this vital sector, and to coordinate efforts between Arab steel producers in light of the current commercial challenges.

For his part, Engineer Ahmed Ezz praised the role played by Emsteel as one of the leading companies in the steel industry in the Arab region, stressing that the Arab iron and steel industry is witnessing positive developments, represented by the remarkable progress it is making at an accelerating pace in a number of countries, such as: “Egypt, the Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Libya, and Morocco.” He also pointed out that many of these countries have succeeded in achieving great leaps in increasing their production capacity with high quality, pointing out that the region is witnessing the implementation of ambitious development projects that will raise demand for iron and steel products. He stressed the need to protect Arab markets from dumping and all harmful practices in international trade, which requires coordination of trade policies among the Arab member states of the Union.

For his part, Mr. Engineer Saeed Al-Rumaithi, CEO of Emsteel, stressed the importance of the role played by the Arab Iron and Steel Union in enhancing communication and cooperation between Arab companies operating in this sector, noting that the “Emsteel” group meets the increasing local demand in light of major development projects, whether governmental or private, and at the same time continues to expand in foreign markets, as it exports its products to more than 70 countries around the world. He added that the company, in parallel with its efforts to diversify markets and enhance their flexibility, is implementing ambitious plans to reduce emissions, and has succeeded in reducing them to levels that are about 45% lower than the global average.

It is noteworthy that Mr. Engineer Saeed Al Rumaithi also holds the position of Vice President of the Arab Iron and Steel Union, and is considered one of the prominent leaders who contributed to strengthening the position of the Emirates Steel Company - Emsteel as one of the main pillars of the steel sector in the United Arab Emirates.
