China's steel exports increased by 49% from January to February

China's exports of steel products reached 12.19 million tonnes during the January-February period, up by 49% over the previous year, according to data from the General Administration of Customs. Exports totalled $14.98 billion, up by 27.5% year on year, which made the average export price reach 1228.69 Yuan/t, down by 14.4% year on year. In 2022, the country exported 67.32 million tonnes of finished steel products, up slightly by 0.9% from 2021. The data showed that the total value of exports amounted to $96.55 billion, an increase of 18.7 per cent year-on-year, with an average export price of $1,434.1 per tonne, an increase of 17.7 per cent over the previous year.
