The Ministry of Trade and Industry in Egypt decided to impose final anti-dumping duties on imports of iron alloys (ferrosilicon) from China, India and Russia, for a period of 5 years, starting from the first of April.

Imports of iron alloys (ferrosilicon), an iron alloy containing 20% more by weight than silicon, and if it comes in the form of lumps, granules or powder, are subject to final dumping duties at rates ranging from 141 to 143 dollars per ton.

The specifications are standardized on the basis of the content of iron, aluminum and calcium impurities of origin or source from China, India or the Russian Federation for the final anti-dumping duties.

The fees referred to are collected by the central bank.

The Ministry stated that the decision was issued to protect the national economy from the effects resulting from harmful practices in international trade, and after the memorandum of the head of the commercial treatment sector and based on the report of the advisory committee.
