Egypt jumps steel exports to $1.3 billion in January-September 2021

Egypt's steel exports rose by 193% to $1.311 billion in January to September 2021, compared to $447 million in the same period last year, according to the export and import control report sent to the Building Materials Export Council.

The report of the Export Council for Building Materials revealed that Italy is the most importer from Egypt, with $329.6 million in the first 9 months of this year, compared to $30.13 million in the same period last year, an increase of 994%, followed by Spain with $305 million, compared to $93 million up 676%.

The report revealed that the US imported $129 million, compared to $12 million in the same period last year, an increase of 993%, and Saudi Arabia came in fourth place in terms of imports with $105.2 million.

Canada ranked fifth with $65.6 million compared to $10.5 million in the same period last year, and Brazil with $51.7 million compared to $754,000 in the January-September 2020.
