With 4.6 million tons in output, Ezz Steel is the leading Arab steel producer, followed by Hadeed in KSA at 4.5 million tons, Emirates Steel at 2.7 million tons and Qatar Steel at 1.2 million tons. Ezz Steel and Hadeed have been alternating the largest producer’s position over the last few years.
In 2020 Ezz Steel reclaimed its top rank in the region despite the unfavorable market conditions.
Ezz Steel is also the largest steel maker on the African continent followed by ArcelorMittal South Africa with output amounting to 2.2 million tons.
