Iron and steel prices in the first week of May 2023

According to the prices announced in the global steel markets, scrap prices reached $390/t, down by $13 from last week, and iron ore prices were $103/t, down by $3 from a week ago. However, steel squares – billets – ranged between $530-575 per tonne, while it was between $540-575 per tonne last week, and the prices of rebar steel prices ranged between $640-650 /tonne, while it was between $670-670 /t previous week.

Some iron and steel products prices were not obtained due to the war between Russia and Ukraine. The following is the steel prices statement in the global markets on 1 May 2023:
