Qatar Steel has become the first company in the Middle East and the fourth in the world to achieve a Rosette 1 rating by the British Reinforcement Certification Authority, in recognition of the quality of its performance. Qatar Steel was also the only company to obtain this classification among 22 accredited companies included in the evaluation carried out by the British Reinforcement Certification Authority, within the framework of the Sustainable Structural Steel Certification Program for the production of steel using continuous casting technology and rebars using thermal rolling technology for concrete reinforcement.
The British Authority began evaluating the accreditation of rebar in the Sustainable Structural Steel Certification Program in 2009, with the aim of ensuring confidence in the performance of structural steel from all sustainable economic, social and environmental aspects. This accreditation represents a step towards developing the sustainability of the performance of rebar, through a structured approach to management systems.
