The Libyan Iron and Steel Company announced the results of its production and sales during the first of 2023. According to the official report from the company sent to the Arab Iron and Steel Union. The company achieved a production of Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) amounting to 433.8 thousand tonnes, or 144.6% of the target, in the first half of 2023, an increase of 51.9% over the production of the same period in 2022.
The production of reinforcing steel amounted to 674.9 thousand tonnes. 141.3% of the target. With an increase of 155.4% compared to the production of the first half of 2022. And at the level of sales. The company achieved sales of Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) in the first half of 2023 amounting to 284.7 thousand tonnes. They were all exported abroad. An increase of 40.8% compared to the same period last year. The company's sales of long products amounted to 279.2 thousand tons. Of which 212.5 thousand tonnes are domestic sales, and 66.7 thousand tonnes are abroad. An increase of 18.9% compared to the same period in 2022. While the company's sales of flat products amounted to 97.1 thousand tonnes, of which 68.7 thousand tons were domestic sales and 28.4 thousand tonnes abroad. An increase of 35% compared to the first half of 2022.
