The Sonatrach Group and the Tosyali Iron and Steel Company-Algeria signed, in Algiers, a memorandum of understanding that will allow the two parties to conduct a joint feasibility study for the production of green hydrogen in Algeria based on renewable energy, according to a statement from Sonatrach. Under this protocol, which was signed at the headquarters of the General Directorate of Sonatrach, in the presence of the CEO of the Sonatrach Group Rachid Hachichi and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tosyali Iron and Steel Company Algeria Fouad Tosyali. The green hydrogen that will be produced will be directed to the manufacture of "green steel" at the level of the Tosyali Algeria Company, a leader in the steel industry in Algeria. The embodiment of this partnership will also give a strong signal regarding the replacement of fossil fuels with green hydrogen in industry in Algeria, according to the same source.
