South Korea's imports of rebar decreased from January to August 2023

According to statistics, South Korea's imports of rebar amounted to about 342,900 tons during the first eight months of this year, a decrease of 21% compared to the same period last year. Among these imports, imports from China accounted for the largest share at 53.7%, with an annual increase of 20.3% to about 184 thousand tons. Japan ranked second with a share of 44.6%, with approximately 153 thousand tons, a decrease of 38.3% annually. In August alone, South Korea imported nearly 39,600 tons of rebar, down 17% month-on-month and up 60.8% year-on-year
