Global iron and steel markets witnessed relative stability during the fourth week of January, with most prices remaining unchanged compared to the previous week, according to data obtained by the Arab Iron and Steel Union.

In the raw materials market, prices of imported HS1&2 scrap (80:20 mix) into Turkey (ex-USA, CFR) stabilized at $376 per ton, with no week-on-week change. In contrast, the price of 62% iron ore (Australia CFR) declined to $106 per ton, recording a weekly drop of $2, amid pressure on demand from steel mills.

At the semi-finished products level, billet prices maintained stability. Russian billet (FOB) ranged between $435 and $445 per ton, while Chinese billet (FOB) was priced between $445 and $450 per ton. Meanwhile, billet imported into Turkey from CIS countries (CFR) remained steady at $460–465 per ton.

As for finished products, Turkish rebar prices (FOB) ranged between $560 and $570 per ton, unchanged week-on-week, while rebar from the Commonwealth of Independent States (FOB – CIS) was priced between $495 and $510 per ton. In the wire rod segment, prices in Turkey (FOB) increased to a range of $565–600 per ton, marking a weekly rise of around $10.

In the flat steel segment, prices of Russian hot-rolled coils (FOB) remained stable at $445–450 per ton, while cold-rolled coils (1 mm) from China (FOB) held steady within the $530–540 per ton range, with no significant changes compared to the previous week.
