Steel prices in the third week of December 2025

Global steel markets recorded limited price fluctuations during the third week of December 2025, according to data obtained by the Arab Iron and Steel Union.

Imported 2&HS1 steel scrap (80:20 mix) from the United States to Turkey remained stable at USD 369 per tonne CFR, with no week-on-week change.
Meanwhile, the price of 62% iron ore shipped from Australia rose to USD 106 per tonne CFR, marking a USD 2 weekly increase.

In contrast, billet prices declined. Russian billet prices fell to USD 430–440 per tonne FOB, down USD 2, while Chinese billet prices increased to USD 435 per tonne FOB, up USD 3. Turkish billet prices (ex-CIS, CFR) remained stable within the range of USD 455–460 per tonne.

Rebar prices came under downward pressure, with Turkish rebar falling to USD 555–570 per tonne FOB, recording a weekly decline of USD 8. Meanwhile, rebar prices from CIS countries stabilized at USD 495–510 per tonne FOB.

In addition, Turkish wire rod prices declined to USD 565–580 per tonne FOB, down USD 13. Russian hot-rolled flat steel prices remained unchanged at USD 425–435 per tonne FOB.
On the other hand, cold-rolled coil (1 mm) prices from China increased to USD 520–535 per tonne FOB, up USD 8.
