Tata Steel plans to build a second electric arc furnace (EAF) in South India

Tata Steel Chief Executive Officer Narendran said, in a statement on July 6 that India's Tata Steel plans to set up Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) based recycling plants in South India. He said, "The Company is already building a steel plant with a capacity of 750,000 tonnes per year in Ludhiana in northern India, which is expected to be completed within the next two years. The construction of EAFs will play a huge role in Tata Steel’s sustainability drive.”
