The Media Center of the Arab Iron and Steel Union issued the 21st edition of the media bulletin, which highlights the most prominent developments in the Arab and global steel industry, through a collection of specialized investigations, interviews, reports, and market indicators.

The edition provides an extensive overview of the steel industry landscape in the region, beginning with a main investigation titled 'Towards an Integrated Map for the Egyptian Steel Industry,' which discusses the components and developments of the Egyptian industry, and examines the features of the sector's industrial map and opportunities for development and growth.

A report on the scrap export ban highlights the European Union's trend towards banning scrap exports to Egypt and its impact on steel production costs.

The edition includes a special interview with Dr. Andre Kotas, a British steel economics expert, discussing the opportunities available for Arab producers to access European and American markets, and the requirements for proving origin as one of the factors influencing international steel trade, alongside the opportunity for North African Arab factories to enter the continent compared to Chinese, Indian, and Turkish suppliers.

Another interview with Enrico Flamini discusses the future of the steel industry in light of digital transformation, and the role of technology and digitalization in improving operational efficiency, reducing emissions, and enhancing producer competitiveness.

The edition dedicates a significant space to Arab steel markets, reviewing a study by the Ukrainian GMK Center on North African markets, which monitors market characteristics, demand evolution, and the impact of protectionist policies and major projects on the steel industry's movement during 2026.

On the global markets level, the bulletin reviews the latest data from the World Steel Association, with global steel production reaching approximately 144.2 million tons in August 2026, alongside monitoring an American steel industry project with investments reaching $15 billion and a production capacity of up to 10 million tons annually.

The edition also covers a number of reports including robots in steel plants, the biography of the President of the European Steel Association, یورفير هنريك آدم, and the list of Steelie Awards announced by the World Steel Association, which included the name of the UAE company Emirates Steel among the winners.

The Arab Steel Bulletin provides specialized content for workers, producers, experts, and followers of the steel industry, by monitoring industrial, commercial, investment, and technological developments in the Arab region and the world.
