Chinese steel exports fell by 16% during January-March

Chinese Customs announced that steel exports in China during the period from January to March of this year amounted to 14.286 million tons of finished steel products, a decline of 16% compared to the same period last year and a decline of 11% compared to the period January-February of this year.

China exported 6.476 million tons of finished steel products last March, an increase of 2.4% compared to March 2019, as demand in China declined during the last period due to the Corona virus, which made Chinese steel factories turn to export. However, it is expected to decline in the future due to the negative impact of the Corona virus pandemic on demand in all foreign markets around the world and increased competition.
