Turkey’s billet imports up 64.5 per cent in January-July 2023

From January to July, Turkiye's billet imports reached 2.24 million tonnes, an increase of 64.5%, year on year. In that period, Turkiye imported 1,053,243 tonnes of billets from Russia, an increase of 19.8% year-on-year. Algeria topped the Arab countries supplying billets to Turkiye with a volume of 414,800 tonnes, followed by Oman with a volume of 170,363 tonnes and Kuwait with a volume of 61,698 tonnes.
