Iron ore exports by Ukrainian mining companies decreased by 45.9% in 2022 compared to 2021 to reach 23.98 million tonnes. In terms of value, the export for 2022 fell by 57.8% to $2.91 billion. Most of Ukraine's iron ore exports were imported by Slovakia, 19.23%. The Czech Republic came in second place, with 17.32% and Poland in third place, 16.49%. Thus, since the beginning of the war, European countries have become the foremost importers of iron ore from Ukraine, removing China from this list, which at the beginning of 2022, was the largest consumer of Ukrainian iron ore.
