The General Iron and Steel Company in Basra announced the arrival of three huge transformers to the project to rehabilitate the steel and rolling mills and their engineering services.
The company's general manager, Abbas Hayal, told the Iraqi National Agency (NINA) that the three transformers that arrived at the rolling mill project, "the first has a capacity of 125 megavolt-amperes, and two transformers each have a capacity of 63 megavolt-amperes." He pointed out that the total capacity of the three old transformers that were previously operating was 25 megavolt amperes.
